Future Projects

Future Projects

Current and future plans to improve the biodiversity of the reserve revolve around encouraging wildflowers in the meadow area and an ambitious scheme to establish a flowery grassland on one of the south-facing slopes.

More native trees will be planted each season together with regular coppicing of established hazels and maples.

In addition, we have the following projects planned:

  • Extension to all-weather path
  • Lining of lower portion of gullies to retain water
  • Scouring of meadow to allow greater range of wild flowers to flourish, eg. Yellow Rattle.
  • Creation of new habitats  by use of ‘spoil heaps’.
  • Nature Trail for users of Quarr
  • Improved links with local primary schools leading to many minor projects
  • Introduction of a webcam
