Future Projects
Current and future plans to improve the biodiversity of the reserve revolve around encouraging wildflowers in the meadow area and an ambitious scheme to establish a flowery grassland on one of the south-facing slopes.
More native trees will be planted each season together with regular coppicing of established hazels and maples.
In addition, we have the following projects planned:
- Extension to all-weather path
- Lining of lower portion of gullies to retain water
- Scouring of meadow to allow greater range of wild flowers to flourish, eg. Yellow Rattle.
- Creation of new habitats by use of ‘spoil heaps’.
- Nature Trail for users of Quarr
- Improved links with local primary schools leading to many minor projects
- Introduction of a webcam
